Christmas Crafts For Kids
Got kids? If so, it’s obvious to you just how much kids love the holidays. for this reason you may want to think about letting your family help you decorate for the holidays. In fact, in addition to just letting them help you hang Christmas decorations, you may also want to let them craft their own handmade holiday decorations. Not only will you discover that there are numerous benefits to doing so, but you will also discover that there are a number of fun and exciting Christmas decorations that they can easily make.
Almost everyone has a Christmas tree; therefore, there is a good chance that your family will have one. One fun and exciting holiday craft project that your children could do involves creating their own holiday ornaments. Seasonal ornaments can be made from regular paper or any other type of material. Check your local craft store for ornament kits and guides. Take the kids with you and let them select their own ornament projects. Make sure to get other things that you might require such as paint, scissors, and glue. Also, don’t forget the glitter.
Aside from|In addition to} Christmas trees, quite a few families have small Christmas plaques or pictures throughout their home. These signs and pictures often have a Christmas message or have a painting of Santa. Your children could simply make their own paintings or drawings, more than likely you already have these items in your home. Your child’s picture would likely look great on your refrigerator or you could even frame the picture and hang it up somewhere else inside your home. Children of any age love this project and, as previously mentioned, is a great way to save money this holiday|Christmas} season since you probably already have all of the needed supplies.
Another fun Christmas decoration that your children could do is make silk arrangement for your dinning room table. In fact, you may also want to use that centerpiece for your holiday dinner. If you are looking for a somewhat professional centerpiece, you could easily have your kids make their own for their table. You can do this by purchasing artificial floral materials, a large bowl or vase, as well as other decorative items. Your family can easily craft these items to make their own unique centerpieces for your dinning room table. It may also be a good idea to let them be crafty. Your kids may also be able to create a centerpiece in the shape of Santa or a Christmas star|Christmas tree} by using construction paper and a few other small supplies.
These easy Christmas crafts are just a few to get you started. Use your imagination! Let the kids get creative! Don’t forget, hands wash and tables wipe off, but these memories will last. Your children are only going to be this particular age this Christmas.
Regardless of which type of Christmas decorations you allow your kids to make, they will likely enjoy the experience, most of all if you participate as well. For a child, there is nothing like seeing their Christmas drawings hanging on the walls or their holiday ornaments hanging on the tree. That is why I suggest letting your children make their own holiday decorations. As mentioned above, there are numerous decorations that they can easily create; decorations that require little time and money.

Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas page turner book cover on kidthing
Los Angeles, CA (Vocus) December 4, 2008
For the first time since originally published in 1957, a digital version of Dr. Seuss’s classic book How the Grinch Stole Christmas is now available only through kidthing, the first and only free digital media player made just for kids. kidthing also added One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, bringing the total of Dr. Seuss titles offered to 13, creating the largest and only collection of digital Dr. Seuss books available anywhere.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a classic tale about the Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” and his plans to put a halt to Who-ville’s holiday celebration. One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish was first released in 1960 and is part of the Dr. Seuss beginning readers series. How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a kidthing page-turner, brought to life through narration, music and sound effects. Children can play the books automatically for a “read to me” experience, or can read along themselves at their own pace, turning the pages when they’re done. Both titles are available for .99.
The Grinch is the latest holiday addition to kidthing, which last week announced Countdown to Christmas – a 25-day interactive holiday experience that will reveal a free holiday gift to children – one each day – as they eagerly await Santa’s arrival. kidthing will continue to light up the holidays with additional holiday titles to be announced next week.
Other titles from Dr. Seuss Enterprises available on kidthing include: Horton Hears a Who! and The Lorax special animated edition page turner books, Horton Hears a Who! and Dr. Seuss Concentration games; Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, Oh the Places You’ll Go! and Horton Hatches an Egg page turner books; Dr. Seuss’s ABCs Activity Book; and the Dr. Seuss Coloring Collection. The titles are for children age four to eight and Dr. Seuss fans of all ages and range from .99 to .99.
For families traveling this holiday season, kidthing provides a fun and entertaining way to fill time spent sitting in airports, cars and planes since all kidthing titles are downloaded directly to the kidthing player on a PC and are always available to be played – even when there’s no Internet connection.
The two Dr. Seuss titles join the growing library of digital books, games, videos and activities available at kidthing (http://store.kidthing.com). kidthing recently won The National Parenting Association’s 2009 Seal of Approval. The kidthing online store is filled with digital learning and entertainment products for kids to play from leading brands like Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Scholastic, Garfield, HarperCollins Publishers, Penguin Young Readers Group, and many more. kidthing runs on Windows XP or Windows Vista and will be available for Mac at a future date.
